Research Interests  
Since my field of expertise is epigenetics and cell biology, my research in the Gates Lab focuses on the study of molecular mechanisms underlying coral adaptation to climate change such as heat shock stress response, coral bleaching, and trans-generational adaptability. I want to understand what regulatory pathways are essential in the response of corals to changing environment and in the ability of some corals to adapt while others die. In general, my research should help us clarify what cellular and molecular regulations are crucial for corals to survive in changing oceans.
